IC teachers, district-wide, spent their first flex PD date with State Science Specialist, Mrs. Cindy Bunch. Teachers dove into science phenomenon, science standards, and learning progressions- all of which are the foundation of STEM projects!








Congrats to Carly Brewer and Kayla Brewer on their winnings at this week's youth rodeo! Also representing the ICC team were Tyler Morehead, Ada Beth Jones, Jolee Jackson, Lillian Washington, Renlee Jackson, and Walker Jones.


This week the Senior High Volleyball Lady Cougars will be playing their District Tournament at Marshall; the first game is on Monday at 6:30. Mighty Mite Football travels to Yellville, and the Junior and Senior High teams both have conference games against Des Arc.

Medical detectives in action - 7th grade Medical Detective students completed a bacteria lab where they recorded the reactions of multiple antibiotic disks on a particular strand of e-coli.






Mrs. Pool’s Elementary STEM Lab/Ag kiddos are studying life science by planting microgreens in the hydroponic rack! 🌱











Izard County Middle School hosted Mr. Jason Bailey, ADE Project Lead the Way Grant Coordinator, as part of our PLTW site visit. Through the PLTW Gateway program, 7th and 8th grade students are immersed in the courses of Design and Modeling, Medical Detectives, Automation and Robotics, and Flight and Space. We are proud to have PLTW Gateway as a STEM segway!

We will have representatives from the following: Ozarka College, Lyon College, Central Baptist College, Crowley's Ridge College, Williams Baptist University, University of Central Arkansas, UACCB, National Guard, Army, and Arkansas State University.


Free admission! Come enjoy a fun afternoon watching youth cowboys and cowgirls from area schools compete at the Izard County High School Riding & Roping Arena.
