Winter Royalty Spirit Week begins tomorrow with AMERICA DAY!
We will not have before or after school programs on Monday, January 13. However, school will be in session, with buses running snow routes.
We will be in session regular time on Monday, January 13, with buses running snow routes before and after school. Additional snow route information is available here.
We are excited to announce that the district has recently been awarded three grants! The high school has been awarded a $10,000 Project Lead the Way engineering program grant and a $1,500 Arkansas Game and Fish Wildlife Education Program Grant for our shooting sports program.
The middle school has been awarded a $1,225 Arkansas Game and Fish Wildlife Education Program Grant for a rain garden.
Thanks to Courtney Selph and Isaac Blankenship for their work in securing these grants for our school district!
Happy Snow Day, Cougar Nation! We hope you are all staying safe and warm today, but we also hope Cougar Nation families will take some time to get out and enjoy this beautiful snow day! Izard County School District will be closed for inclement weather on Friday, January 10, 2025.
The semi-final games of the Kell Classic scheduled for tonight and tomorrow have been moved to Wednesday, January 15th.
The Lady Cougars will play BIC at 4:00.
The Cougars will play Rivercrest at 5:20.
How about those Lady Cougars?! With a final score of 68-32, they're moving on to the semi-finals! Scoring came from all over the floor tonight: Quinn Johnson 19, Olivia Spray 16, Tinley Bailey 13, Makensie Yancey 8, Megan McBride 6, Trinity Gaskins 4, and Emily Stephens 2. We love the effort from the entire team, and we're ready to cheer them on in the semi-finals! Way to go, Lady Cougars and Coach Harmon!
Their next game in the tournament is scheduled to be on Friday... we'll keep you up-to-date with any possible changes due to weather.

Due to the threat of inclement weather during travel times on Thursday evening, the after-school program is cancelled for Thursday, January 9.
The before-school program will go on as scheduled.
The Lady Cougars play in the quarter-finals of the Kell Classic this evening at 5:00 against Marmaduke. Help us wish them luck as they work their way to the semi's!

What a game from our Cougars tonight! In the quarter-final round of the Kell Classic, the Cougars snapped the defending 1A State Champion Marked Tree's 32-game winning streak with a final score of 50-38. Marked Tree is a very talented, well-coached squad, but the Cougars and their coaches were up for the challenge! Izard County was led by Gabe Spray who knocked down an impressive 29 points. Others on the scoreboard include Kade Yancey - 9; Cash Arnhart - 7; Kasen Black - 3; and Sabastion Robbins - 2.
Way to work tonight, boys! We're proud of each of you!
The Cougars move on to the semi-finals on Thursday at 5:00.

We are thrilled to have our amazing teachers back after the Christmas break for a Flex PD day! A big welcome back to Luke Francois, who is leading today’s session. Today’s inservice, paid for by a professional development grant from the state, allows teachers to revisit essential standards and proficiency scales while diving into data from recent ATLAS assessments.
As we prepare to return to school on Tuesday, January 6, we want to include some helpful resources all in one post.
If you need to update your student's contact information for inclement weather announcements, please call their school office.
Please also call the school office before 2 PM any day that your child has transportation changes.
