🌟 Cougar Pride Spotlight! 🌟 A huge shout-out to our amazing 5th & 6th grade helpers at STEM Night! 🙌 These four students went above and beyond—not only setting up their project, but also guiding guests through hands-on fun by using iPads to control Spheros. Their leadership, teamwork, and willingness to serve made the night a success for everyone who stopped by. 💡💻⚡ We are so proud of these students and the example they set for others. They definitely earned their choice snack rewards! 🍫🥤 Way to go, Cougars! 🐾💙

Clark Sanders will be at school on Wednesday, September 10, to take pictures for senior sports banners. Senior athletes without a full-day schedule should make arrangements to be at school on time for pictures. There will not be a make-up day!

There will be no After-School Program on Monday, September 8 so that all of our district families can attend STEM night at Izard County Elementary!

Today was a good day! We went on our FFA Industry Tour to the Fred Berry Nature Center. Students participated in stream ecology where they collected specimens in the water to identify and then determined the health of the creek based on what they found. They were exposed to a few wildlife related careers. Students got to try their hands at archery and topped off the day by fishing and identifying the species they caught 🎣

This week in sports brings the first cross country meet and the first regular scheduled Mighty Mite football games!

Please note that Thursday's volleyball games against Cotter has been moved TO Cotter... the originally schedule away game on September 30 will now be played at home.

🐾 🌟 Our 5th and 6th graders have been busy this week sharpening their TAG and summary skills—and they made it look fun! 🌟 Working in teams, they practiced the super-important 21st century skills of collaboration and communication while racing to put summaries in the right order. 🧩💬 It was awesome to see how hard they worked and how much they enjoyed the challenge! Next week we’ll be taking it a step further and writing our very first introductory paragraphs. 📝 To help get ready, try practicing summaries at home using the Somebody… Wanted… But… So… Then… method. 👉 Don’t know what that is?
