Cougar Sports will be back in action this week! Winter Royalty is Monday night, and Senior Night is Wednesday. Bowling also has their conference tournament on Wednesday.

👏 Congratulations to Hannah Gibson, Kirsten Sherrill, and Taylor Batterton, whose project IC STEM Third Grade “Squash & Strawberries” Raised-Bed Garden connects CKLA, Native Americans & Colonial Times with math and science through hands-on learning. Their innovative approach, strong community support, and broad student impact helped this project stand out among nearly 240 applicants!
🐣 Congratulations as well to Kristen Jones, whose project “Life in an Egg – Hatching Baby Chicks in First Grade” will give students an unforgettable, real-world learning experience. Judges were impressed by her creative idea and the meaningful way it will engage young learners in science and life cycles.
✨ A huge thank-you and shoutout to STEM Coordinator Courtney Selph, who helped guide and support our teachers through the grant-writing process. Her leadership and encouragement played a key role in turning these great ideas into successful, funded projects.
Out of nearly 240 applications, only 40 grants were awarded—making this accomplishment even more impressive. Both projects reflect excellence, creativity, and a deep commitment to student learning.

The Junior Lady Cougars picked up a 41–21 win over the Junior Lady Timberwolves. Kacee Morehead led the way with six three-pointers in just two quarters, finishing with 18 points. Jacee Morehead added 10, Maddie Bryson scored 7, Torri Douglas chipped in 4, and Chesney Helm finished with 2.
The Junior Cougars followed with a big road win over Cedar Ridge. Brody Cottrell posted a career-high 27 points to lead the way. Kane Johnson added 13, Landon Gross had 7, Billy Beck scored 3, and Hoyt Helm finished with 2.

We are excited to share that four IC STEM High School students placed in the Top 10 in Arkansas during the fall qualifier of the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) U.S. National Championship for PowerPoint. Congratulations to Introduction to Business students, Serenity Oudekerk (2nd place), Abby Drollinger (4th place), Gavin Williams (7th place), and Ian Bear (9th place)! Congrats also to Mrs. Jackson who has been recognized as an Outstanding Educator! Her commitment to teaching and fostering real-world skills is a key part of our students’ achievement.
