Congratulations to Rico Cruz, Cash Arnhart, Kade Yancey, Delilah Montalbo, and Eli Walters for successfully completing the Financial Literacy certification in Financial Planning & Wealth Management class!

🐾 Our 6th grade field trip to Oxford City Park was a huge success!
Students had the opportunity to present several of their creative food truck concepts to the team at The Shaggy Cow, gaining real-world feedback and inspiration. The delicious food was the cherry on top!
We’d like to give a huge thank you to our amazing community partners:
Taylor Fertilizer for their generous donation that allowed each student to enjoy a meal, and The Shaggy Cow for serving up fabulous food and hospitality!
Check out our class Facebook page to find more pictures, and stay tuned for upcoming posts where you can vote for your favorite student-created food truck! 🐾

Seventh Grade Signing Day is tonight!
Coach Brody and his staff invites next year's seventh grade football players to join him this evening at 6:00 in the Fine Arts building at the Brockwell campus. Get pictures signing letters of intent, enjoy refreshments, meet and get to know the coaching staff, and ask questions about the upcoming season. We look forward to seeing all of our future 7th grade football players and their families tonight!

Congratulations to Mackenzy Stillman for earning her Microsoft PowerPoint certification through IC Survey of Business class. Congrats also to Kayla Brewer, Addysyn Kinion, and Carly Brewer for becoming certified in Microsoft Word!

Families are invited to attend our academic awards ceremonies on Friday, May 9, to help us celebrate IC students for their hard work in the class this year!

We want to address a recent rumor circulating within our school community. There is no truth to the claim that a weapon was brought to campus. At no point today were any students or staff in danger. As always, the safety and well-being of our school community is our top priority.
Our administration and school resource officers take all tips seriously, and work with local law enforcement when necessary, so any concerns are addressed immediately.

Meet Kim Thomas – joining Izard County STEM School as the elementary counselor!
Kim brings a wealth of experience and heart to her new role, and we look forward to having her join our team. A proud wife, mom of three, and grandma to six, Kim also shares her home with two beloved fur kids.
Kim loves the Lord, her family, and serving the kids in our area. Her educational journey includes an Associate of Arts from Ozarka College, a BSE in Early Childhood from Arkansas Tech, a Master’s in Reading, a Masters degree in Psychology/Counseling, an Ed.S. in Psychology/Counseling, a Master’s in Building Level Administration, all from Arkansas State University and an Educational Examiner certification from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Kim’s career began as a 4th grade teacher at Highland School District, where she later became the High School Counselor. She went on to serve as the Elementary Principal at Calico Rock, followed by roles as Literacy, Math, and Science Coach at the North Central Educational Cooperative. Most recently, she served as the Elementary Counselor at Melbourne School District.
Now part of the Cougar family, Kim is excited to continue growing, learning, and supporting students, staff, and families across Izard County STEM School District!

Cash Arnhart and Megan McBride and their families were invited to attend the Arkansas Governor's Scholastic Honors Day at the Governor's Mansion. Scholastic Honors Day recognizes Arkansas' best and brightest students. What a privilege and an honor to attend this event, and these two Cougars certainly represent the Izard County School District so well!
We're proud of you, Cash and Megan!

Cougar Baseball Fans - there's been a game added to the schedule!
We'll play Flippin on Monday at 4:00 @ home.

Class of 2025, here are the plans for Monday and Tuesday. We can't wait to celebrate you!

We look forward to hosting this event every year! Be sure to join us on Monday @ 6:30 PM in the Fine Arts Building.

Congratulations to upcoming graduate, Makensie Yancey!
Kensie has been a very active student at ICHS. She's a part of CHASE, Student Council, and Beta Club. She plays on the Cougar Softball team and is a member of the 2025 State Champion Basketball Team!
After high school, Kensie plans to attend UACCB for Cosmetology School. After she finishes the program, she plans to further her education more by going to aesthetician school.
Kensie's favorite memory was easy to come up with: "winning state finals with the best group of girls and having the best coach to guide us to winning!"
Kensie, we're very proud of the leadership you've shown through your clubs and teams through the years. You've worked incredibly hard to reach high goals you've set for yourself and your teams, and we couldn't be more proud! Thank you for always showing up and putting your best foot forward... we hope that trait stays with you throughout life! We look forward to following the success we're sure you'll have in your next journeys! Best wishes!

Happy School Lunch Hero Day to our amazing cafeteria team! Thank you to Joann, Sue, Sheila, Seth, and Cody for all you do for our middle/high school students and staff. Big thanks also to Brittany, Holly, Tawn and Pam at IC STEM Elementary!

As we get closer to the millage election, we are excited to share locations for some of our proposed plans. We hope to construct two new buildings, one at each campus, that will have storm shelters, classrooms, therapy services, and restrooms. The location at our middle school would also allow us to relocate and improve the playground.

Happy National Principals' Day to Eve Hatman (elementary), David Harmon (K-12 assistant), Sarah Burns (middle school), and Billy McBride (high school)! Thank you for the vital roles you all play at Izard County STEM School, so we can serve every student, every day, whatever it takes. We appreciate you!

It's FINALS GAMEDAY!
Both our Cougar Baseball and Cougar Softball teams will play in the District Tournament Finals this evening at 5:00 at Sloan-Hendrix. The boys will take the field against Cedar Ridge and the girls against Tuckerman.

We move the #CougarSeniorSpotlight to Alex Elizabeth O'Connell!
Alex has been a member of BETA Club, Criminal Justice program, Cougar Choir, Cougar Band, and Art. Her future plans include pursuing a degree in psychology while attending Lyon College.
Alex says that Mrs. Phillips has had the greatest impact on her life. She said, "If any teacher has made an impact in my life it would be Mrs.Phillips. She has always been there for me and is always the sweetest person to be around."
Alex, we'll miss your sweet spirit. We hope you'll keep that same attitude as you go in to the next stages of life. Thanks for all the hard work over the years. You'll be missed at ICHS, and we wish you nothing but success!

We move the #Cougar SeniorSpotlight to soon-to-be-graduate, Xander Robins!
Xander's future plans include enlisting in the US Army. His favorite memory is walking around downtown together on the EAST trip and enjoying the company of his classmates and friends. He said it's impossible to pick a teacher that has had the greatest impact on him... "They have all done wonderful jobs connecting and helping their students."
Xander, we'll miss your friendly & easy-going attitude as well as your strong sense of purpose. You'll be an outstanding leader in the military. We've loved seeing your growth and dedication and appreciate your willingness to go the extra mile for your friends. We'll be rooting for you in the future!
