
The Lady Cougars defeated the Sloan Hendrix Lady Greyhounds, 66-46, at the Cougar Den. The Lady Cougars (7-4 overall and 4-2 in the Conference) were led by Olivia Spray with 15 points and
Katie Orf added 14. Makensie Yancey chipped in 13, Tinley Bailey 10, Quinn Johnson 7, and Breyona Fortney 7.
The Junior Cougars rallied from an 11 point first half deficit to defeat the Junior Greyhounds, 47-40. The Junior Cougars (8-5 overall and 3-0 in the conference) were led by Kade Yancey with 14 points. Benniah Spray added 12 and Aaron Dockins 11.
The Cougars fell 62-48 to the Greyhounds. The Cougars (6-4 overall and 3-3 in the conference) were led by Gabe Spray with 18 points and Kasen Black with 16.

The Izard County Cougars advanced to the finals of the Battle of the Border Tournament at Mammoth Spring with a 77-64 win over Mtn. View Liberty. The Cougars (6-3) were led by Gabe Spray with 36 points. Jude Everett added 14 points, Keaton Melton 12, and Kasen Black 9.

Izard County After School Program students have been exploring engineering with robotics kits. They have created everything from simple machines to powered race cars!











5th and 6th grade Cougars were surprised by a visit from the Grinch!



Parents - this information has been shared with students several times, but we want to make sure you know all of the Winter Royalty Dance Info as well. The dance is for 7-12th graders and will take place in the Fine Arts Gym. It starts after the last basketball game ends on Friday, December 15, and students must have transportation there to take them home, no later than 10:30 PM! Admission to the games are free, but tickets to the dance are $3 each or $5 for a couple, and can be purchased at the door.

The Izard County Junior Lady Cougars defeated WCC, 53-45. The Junior Lady Cougars were led by Kallie Skidmore with 22 points. Reese Johnson added 12 points and Trinity Gaskins 11.

Congrats to Izard County High School for being recognized by the Arkansas Department of Education recently for being among the top 6-10 percent of schools in the state in student achievement growth and graduation rate! The district has been awarded $9,650 by the ADE in recognition of this award! Great job, students, parents, and staff!

The Izard County Jr High Quiz Bowl Team earned 2nd Place at the Highland Holiday Invitational Tournament, compiling the following 5 - 1 record:

Congratulations to Tabby Cooper for becoming the 10th National Board Certified Teacher in our school district history. The others are TaKara Kinion, Kensey Wheat, Chelsea Phillips, Courtney Selph, Tony Booth, Vicky Norton, Meredith Cole, Eve Hatman, and retired teacher Hugh Chapman. Kensey Wheat and TaKara Kinion recertified as NBC teachers.
