What a game from our Cougars tonight! In the quarter-final round of the Kell Classic, the Cougars snapped the defending 1A State Champion Marked Tree's 32-game winning streak with a final score of 50-38. Marked Tree is a very talented, well-coached squad, but the Cougars and their coaches were up for the challenge! Izard County was led by Gabe Spray who knocked down an impressive 29 points. Others on the scoreboard include Kade Yancey - 9; Cash Arnhart - 7; Kasen Black - 3; and Sabastion Robbins - 2.
Way to work tonight, boys! We're proud of each of you!
The Cougars move on to the semi-finals on Thursday at 5:00.

We are thrilled to have our amazing teachers back after the Christmas break for a Flex PD day! A big welcome back to Luke Francois, who is leading today’s session. Today’s inservice, paid for by a professional development grant from the state, allows teachers to revisit essential standards and proficiency scales while diving into data from recent ATLAS assessments.
As we prepare to return to school on Tuesday, January 6, we want to include some helpful resources all in one post.
If you need to update your student's contact information for inclement weather announcements, please call their school office.
Please also call the school office before 2 PM any day that your child has transportation changes.

The Lady Cougars begin their play in the NEA tournament at Jonesboro today. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 pm against Buffalo Island Central. We are unsure of livestream at this time, but we'll definitely update you as we learn more today.

It didn't go the Cougars' way tonight in the Poplar Bluff Showdown, but our boys sure did put up a good fight in a very physical game against a good Poplar Bluff team on its home court. The final score was 43-50. We saw a lot of grit out of our Cougars this evening, and we're proud of their fight.

It took all four quarters plus one overtime for our Senior Boys, and after a hard-fought game, the Cougars finish on top in the first round of the Poplar Bluff Showdown this afternoon with a final score of 58-54!
It was Senior Gabe Spray who led the way on the scoreboard today with a big 33 points (60% from the field), 2 steals, and 4 rebounds! Cash Arnhart added seven points, 6 rebounds, and a steal. Bejnamin Tuschak (6 rebounds), Kade Yancey, and Sabastion Robbins added 4 points apiece. Garrett Dillard and Kasen Black (5 rebounds, 4 assists) scored 3 points. It was a great team effort. Our Cougars fought until the very end, and we're so proud of them!
They move on to play in the semi-finals tomorrow at 7:00 against the winner of Poplar Bluff and Urbana.

The Lady Cougars secured another conference win tonight at Cedar Ridge! It was neck and neck throughout most of the game, even going into overtime before they finished with a 55-49 win over the Lady Timberwolves. Olivia Spray led all scorers with 21 points. Quinn Johnson and Makensie Yancey added 13 and 12 apiece. Tinley Bailey added 6, and Breyona Fortney chipped in 2 points. Way to work tonight, Lady Cougars!
The Senior Boys fell to the Timberwolves with a final score of 62-54.
The Junior Cougar teams are both coming home with big conference wins this evening!
The Junior Lady Cougars jumped out to a very early huge lead against the Lady Timberwolves and kept it throughout the entire game! They finished with a final score of 36-5. Hadleigh Herron led on the scoreboard with 12 points. Kallie Skidmore was right behind her with 10. Reese Johnson added 5, and Willa Everett finished with 3. Torri Douglas, Kayla Brewer, and Addie Tanner scored 2 points each. Great work tonight, Junior Lady Cougars! #family
On the Junior Cougars side, we had an exciting game that ended with a final score of 46-38 after double overtime! These boys played as a team with so much heart to get the W tonight, and we are so proud! Benaiah Spray was the leading scorer with 24 points. Evan Cole put up a big 15 points tonight! Keylon Gross added 5, and Brody Cottrell chipped in 2. Way to fight, Cougars!
