Does anyone remember Mr. DNA from Jurassic Park? 🦕 When mentioned that the Elementary STEM Fair had a Jurassic Park/Dino theme this year, Jerry Stephens, one of our talented EAST students, immediately got to work. Check out his amazing freehand rendition of Mr. DNA! 🧬 It's likely you'll see this masterpiece at the EAST Booth at the STEM Fair on September 23rd. Don't miss it!


ICC After School Program is buzzing with activity! Our young citizen scientists are honing their nature journaling skills, while 3rd graders are sharpening their math fluency through fun and engaging games!











Today, Mrs. Deborah's 4th grade students learned about the structure and function of the eye. They built models to demonstrate how light reflects off the retina and allows us to see!






5th grade Cougars are hard at work! Students completed a hands-on lab to explore different properties of matter.








Clark Sanders will take senior athlete banner photos (fall and spring sports), as well as team and individual pictures for Jr High and Varsity cheer, volleyball, football, and golf on Wednesday, Aug 28. Photos will begin around 8:30 AM.


We are kicking off Day 2 with the Be Pro Be Proud 8th-12th grade Mobile Workshop! Hunter Sherman, Welding Instructor with Arkansas Elite Welding Academy, and Dakota McCormick, Izard County National Guard Recruiter, are with us today representing two of the many sponsors of the Be Pro Be Proud Mobile workshop. In addition, Mrs. Tiffney Miller, Ozarka College Registrar, and Mrs. Dawsyn Cole, Career Coach for Mountain View School District, are touring with us today! We are so grateful for the state and national sponsors and partnerships that have made this event possible for Izard County students!

Reminder that school picture day for Pre-K through 4th grade staff and students will be on Tuesday, August 20. Grades 5-12 will have their picture taken for the yearbook and senior composites on Wednesday, August 21.


8th-12th grade students are kicking off this week with a visit from the Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop. This experience immerses students in multiple career and technical pathways though virtual reality and simulations. Be Pro Be Proud encourages students to begin planning for their futures TODAY! After talking about global goals and different ways Cougars could make a difference, Mrs. Kristen’s first grade class constructed a map of their hallways water fountain and bathroom locations. The class thought the map would be helpful to new students. They carried out the planning process and created a very useful product!





This week, Officer Brett's EAST students connected through team-building exercises, such as the "Who Am I?" game and a personality test to reveal their "True Color." They had an awesome first week!








Parents of seniors, please ask them if they have received papers with yearbook info? If not, they need to pick up from Mrs. Jackson next week. This is their opportunity to be showcased in the yearbook at no cost with their baby/senior pictures and senior quote. Senior composite photos will be taken on Wednesday! Additionally, they can pre-order their yearbook and/or purchase a senior recognition ad.
