Arkansas State Fair 2024 We are so proud of this group and how they represented us in Little Rock over the last week and half 🔥 Highlights include: Charleigh B. Reserve Grand Champion Miniature Hereford Heifer Junior Ring, Class Winner in the Natural State Goat Show, 3rd in Junior Goat Showmanship, 5th Place in class in the Market Goat Show. Faith C. Division Champion Chi (Open Ring), Class Winner Chi Heifer, Class Winner Shorthorn Plus Bull, 10th in Junior Breeding Cattle Showmanship, and 3rd in Class Exotic Heifer. Danielle H. Class Winner Nigerian Dwarf, 3rd in Division for Junior Nigerian Dwarf Does, and 5th in Senior Dairy Goat Showmanship. Jacee M. Grand Champion Hereford Bull (open ring) Kacee M. 3rd in Junior Swine Skill-a-thon Akynna N. Division Champion Charolais Bull, Reserve Division Champion Charolais Heifer, Class Winner Charolais Bull, Class Winner Charolais Heifer, and 3rd in Class English Heifer. Savanna N. 4th Place Commerical Heifer PeeWee Showmanship and 2nd in Class Exotic Heifer.

🐾 Izard County After School Program’s 3rd graders had a hands-on experience learning how to make paper! 🧑‍🔬 They’re diving into the creative process while discovering the science behind it—fun and learning all in one! 🐾

The Junior High Cougars close out their season this evening at Cougar Stadium! Kickoff for 7th grade is 5:30, and the Junior High game will follow (start time could be earlier than 7:00). We hope to see you all there! #LetsGoCougars

We would like to thank Ronnie Ritter from Arkansas Hunter's Feeding the Hungry, Kimberly Jones, and the board at Twin Lakes Community Foundation for a grant that has made the wild game snack stick program possible for the last two years. The kids always look forward to these snack sticks!

Next week is Red Ribbon Week, and we look forward to celebrating district-wide! Please join the CHASE club by dressing up for Red Ribbon Week!

Remember that this week's Junior High Football games have been moved to Monday! We're also hosting the Regional Volleyball Tournament this week; the Lady Cougars will play their first game on Tuesday at 3:00. Izard County High School hosted the Cougar Invitational Quiz Bowl Tournament today, and the Junior High team finished on top! They outscored their opponents by an impressive margin of 830 points on the day with wins over Highland, Norfork, Cotter, and Flippin. We're incredibly proud of this group, and we look forward to a bright quiz bowl future with each of them! The first ICC Team Roping series came to a close tonight with Justin Deckard and Mike Shrable winning the high point header and heeler buckles - congratulations! Congratulations to Mya Rayoum and Harrison Oss for being selected to the ArkCDA All-Region Choir this past Saturday! Their clinic and concert will be held at ASU Jonesboro on November 2.

IC teachers, district-wide, spent their first flex PD date with State Science Specialist, Mrs. Cindy Bunch. Teachers dove into science phenomenon, science standards, and learning progressions- all of which are the foundation of STEM projects!

Congrats to Carly Brewer and Kayla Brewer on their winnings at this week's youth rodeo! Also representing the ICC team were Tyler Morehead, Ada Beth Jones, Jolee Jackson, Lillian Washington, Renlee Jackson, and Walker Jones.

This week the Senior High Volleyball Lady Cougars will be playing their District Tournament at Marshall; the first game is on Monday at 6:30. Mighty Mite Football travels to Yellville, and the Junior and Senior High teams both have conference games against Des Arc. Good luck this week, Cougars! #CougarPride
